Virtual Reality for Accountants. It all seems very far away, but nothing could be further from the truth. A VR solution is the future in Business Intelligence. This allows accountants to provide their clients with insight into figures and future scenarios in an attractive way. No huge excel files, but gaining insight through a visual and interactive environment. It only seems nice, but experience shows that people understand and absorb the information better in this attractive way.
Victa stands for innovation. Ever since the company was founded by Carlo Vruwink, Victa was one of the first to believe in the problem-solving power of Business Intelligence. “Creating data-driven organizations is the ultimate goal,” he says. Victa is now a serious player in the market with its Business Intelligence solutions. Victa is the cultivation garden where Carlo Vruwink looks for innovations that will further the Business Intelligence profession in the speed of the nations.
How did you come up with the idea of a VR solution and accountancy?
“During my house hunt, my broker put VR glasses on my head. This way I could virtually walk through my future home and get acquainted with the layout and the environment. This experience got me thinking. On the way back from this viewing I saw it. I immediately thought of the Business Intelligence combined with Virtual Reality and accountancy. Without going crazy about just numbers, you can gain insight into, for example, growth scenarios or future scenarios with VR and Business Intelligence. So to work. ”
How does it work?
“When you put on the VR glasses, you see all the figures of your company in a visually attractive and interactive environment. You operate the menu by moving your hands. A keyboard is a thing of the past. Once in the environment you can get deeper insights by touching certain graphs or tables. You immediately experience the effects with every hand movement. Here it becomes clear at a glance that some companies have pain points that they need to solve. Because with Business Intelligence all data sources of your company are transparent, you often immediately see the solutions in addition to the pain points. ”
What's in it for an accountant?
“Suppose you come to your client as an accountant. Together you can see all kinds of things in the figures, but you cannot see where the relationships lie because you do not have all data sources in view. You would like this of course. This is possible with Virtual Reality and Business Intelligence. Instead of a static photo of your client's figures, the accountant can now show a 'video', which is also interactive. This gives you a much better insight and you see where you can help each other. ”
How are accountants going to use it?
“What could be better if accountants go to their customers with VR glasses in addition to a laptop or tablet. With Business Intelligence software you can already gain a lot of insight, but with a VR solution you really experience it. I see it as a tool for accountants to provide guidance to their clients. The picture for customers becomes much clearer and more comprehensible. During the Accountancy Expo 20 June, we will present the first prototype to the accountants present. As an accountant, you can experience how it works at the Victa stand. We have already tested this with a small group and the reactions were positive. ”
What else are you doing?
“The most important thing for us is to keep our customers happy. After all, they use our Business Intelligence solutions every day. But a lot is changing around us. You can of course already see that with things like Big Data, Internet of things (IoT), GeoSpatial Analyics and Predictive Analytics. As Victa, we do not close our eyes to this and offer innovative solutions in these areas that can actually be applied in practice. For the accountancy industry we offer standard solutions for both internal and external practice. It is new in this Qlik Analytics Platform (QAP) with which we offer accountants the opportunity to use the innovative visual analytics software Qlik Sense can be fully integrated into existing apps and portals. This allows accountants to offer their clients a fully digital operating concept, fully interactive and possibly supported with benchmarking. This allows accountants to greatly expand the advisory services to their clients ”.
Enthusiastic? Then come to the Victa booth at the Accountancy Expo on 20 June. Our booth is number 33 and everyone who wants to get acquainted with Virtual Reality and Business Intelligence is welcome. After the demo there is a nice present for the participants, a real Victa VR glasses.
