The November release of QlikView. This release includes improvements to visualizations, global support, and performance.
One of the most notable improvements to QlikView for November 2018 is the Skia graphics library, which replaces the deprecated GDI+ library to use the QlikView longevity support. With the Skia library, a wide range of all graphical elements are made available via common APIs. These are available on various hardware and software platforms and can be easily implemented. After a short beta test, many users already reported improved visualizations, using the new Skia library.
International components for Unicode (ICU) libraries have also been implemented in the November 2018 release. This suite of Java and C/C++ libraries supports your international usage and provides more consistent application behavior across platforms and regions, through improved support for non-English characters, numeric string sorting and SET variable formatting, and more.
Two new log files have been added, which can be enabled quickly and easily. It Engine Log File validates performance levels and determines where, how and why inefficiencies occur within your application. And the reload performance log determines which documents in your application consume the most resources. One of our beta testers, a healthcare organization customer, said: “I'm impressed with the set of new logs, the engine log and the performance log, in QMC to monitor memory and CPU usage down to the object level. The new log files help improve overall application and server performance.”
De “File Exists” task is an interesting improvement for QlikView Publisher. As a supporting task, File Exists can trigger a follow-up task to create a file in your environment. This is especially useful when files are created in your system at irregular intervals.
