The latest version of Qlik Sense is now live and it is packed with new and interesting features.
More advanced visualizations with Qlik Sense? Or better mobile support with adequate security to enable more of your colleagues to interact with Qlik to work? Do you want to leave your data where it is and also realize amazing data visualisations from these enormous datasets at lightning speed? And do you want to distribute extensive reports within your organization with specific rights for each individual user? It is all possible with the Qlik Sense Release February 2019.
The latest version of Qlik Sense is now live and it is packed with new and interesting features. To make it all even more fun; next Qlik Sense, improvements have also been made to NPrinting and the Qlik Associative Big Data Index available to everyone!
Already came in November Qlik with the successful Dashboard bundle. Qlik goes one step further in the same way with the Visualization bundle. This bundle contains the seven most popular visualization extensions from the open source community. Below is information about the new chart types that are now available:
- funnel chart - to show the progress in different stages;
- sankey chart - a flow chart type diagram. It is mainly used in process technology and for displaying energy flows.
- radar chart - a web-shaped diagram used within statistics to indicate the relative influence of different numerical parameters. The values are plotted on scales that radiate from a point and are then connected to each other;
- Heat Map - a graphical representation of data that uses different colors to show, for example, where a user clicks the most and how far it goes in a page;
- Multi KPI object - shows measurements with more options and adjustments than the standard KPI object;
- Word cloud - highlights the most common words in the text dimensions;
- Network chart - visualizes a graph with dimensions for nodes, sources and measures.
These additional chart types provide a wealth of additional options when it comes to data visualization. In the coming year you can expect even more expansions with interesting bundles.
Besides the update regarding the visualisations, the interface of Qlik Sense made more user-friendly for an even better user experience. Using a tab, you can easily switch between data, analyzes and storytelling. This means that insights can be obtained even faster, with fewer clicks.
Mobile use is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, the February release includes several improvements for the mobile user to provide an even better user experience and Qlik further strengthens its position as market leader in the mobile segment. For example, the mobile app is now also available for Android users and mash-ups are supported for the mobile apps. In addition, EMM (Enterprise Mobile Management) capabilities have been expanded to include support for Microsoft InTune - one of the fastest growing EMM platforms in the market. Qlik is a leader in the security of mobile data use through integration with Zimperium, among other things.
While this February release is packed with quite a few new mobile developments, this is just the beginning. This release forms the basis for the continuous mobile strategy of Qlik. So we can expect a lot more in the future.
Ordered before QlikNPrinting has made quite a few quality improvements. The February 2019 release offers some sought after features that have been added to Qlik NPrinting, including image scaling for Qlik Sense analytics, support for variables in emails, and FIPS compliance - making Qlik NPrinting has been made even more suitable for a wider group of users and cases.
Finally, with the February release, all users can use the Qlik Associative Big Data Index. This allows them to use any data set, of whatever format, to gain even better insights from the organization. Perhaps even more interesting is that the Qlik Associative Big Data Index provides a controlled, scalable, powerful associative experience that can be leveraged across resources such as Hadoop. This means that large amounts of data do not have to be moved elsewhere before they can be used.
It promises to be a great year!
