topdesk Qlik Connector
Reporting and dashboarding is essential in the pursuit of excellent service. At TOPdesk we see many customers who want to gain more insights from their data. To achieve this TOPdesk has released an OData feed. This is an API to access online data from TOPdesk (SaaS) in a format that is suitable for business intelligence tools, such as Qlik.
Available at TOPdesk Saas
In the past, most TOPdesk customers hosted their own TOPdesk application and database locally. Over the years, we have seen a steady increase in customers switching to TOPdesk SaaS. While direct database access traditionally enabled customers to retrieve data from TOPdesk (On Premise), this is no longer possible on SaaS for security reasons.
Of course, the need for reporting on the different modules (Incidents, Changes, Configuration, Knowledge, Problems, etc.) and publishable reports has not disappeared with that decision. As a solution to this, TOPDesk has developed the OData feed, with which TOPdesk SaaS customers can load all data into a Business Intelligence tool and then create insightful, detailed reports. Currently, the feed provides access to Incident Management and Change Management data, the other modules will be added later.
With the OData feed, data can be read directly into, for example, in Qlik sense, QlikView, PowerBI or Excel. Specially for Qlik Victa has developed a special connector that is fully integrated with Qlikview of Qlik Sense with which you can easily and quickly call up the OData feed and load data realtime into your dashboard.
The OData feed is currently exclusively available on TOPdesk SaaS. If you still have an on-premise environment running (locally), Victa also has options for this through direct ODBC access. Ready-to-use TOPdesk dashboards are also available in both QlikView as Qlik Sense to facilitate you a quick start. This gives you immediate added value from your TOPdesk environment and allows you to make data-driven decisions to further improve your services.
