Qlik The year gets off to a good start with some long cherished updates for Qlik Sense! Among other things, the “sheet show condition” and “Reference Master Measures” are the updates we have been waiting for a long time. We will go through these and all other updates with you.
We have been waiting for this for a long time. This addition allows the visibility of a sheet to be set with a show condition. The show condition can be any expression that is triggered to true or false. A simple addition that makes dashboards a lot easier for many users. The hidden sheets are always visible to the app developer. Pay attention! The “Sheet show condition” is not a security feature, use section access for it.
Displaying a video in your dashboard has been possible for a while with the help of third party extensions. Has at the request of many customers Qlik now a native video player. Handy for, for example, a tutorial about the dashboard or Qlik self. The player supports Mp4, WebM and Ogg files. Please note, iOS only supports Mp4 files.
We have also waited a long time for this update / addition. With Reference Master Measures it is possible from February to create new master items or measurements by reusing existing master items. For instance:
SumOfSales = sum (Sales)
CostOfSales = sum (COS)
Profit = SumOfSales - CostOfSales
With this addition, the app developer can keep the code clean and maintenance is a lot easier.
This new visualization allows you to display one or two measures in a grid with two dimensions. Grid lines can be displayed to maintain an overview and scrolling is possible both horizontally and vertically. The new visualization can be found in the supplied visualization bundle from February.
